My two sons (5 and 7 yo) and I came to San Diego area from San Francisco for the Thanksgiving weekend. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Meg's ranch. Not only the boys enjoyed pony rides, they also loved a farm tour, feeding and petting animals, holding a rabbit. Thank you Meg for the great day!

We had our daughters 4th birthday party at Mega Arte and it was a spectacular time for all. 12 kiddos got a great riding experience. Not just small pony circles, but in a large walking ring, with obstacles. She even got my daughter to trot! what we love most about this place is that it is not your typical hoity-toity riding academy. The ranch is very down to earth; get yourself dirty kind of feel. You get the feeling of being a real Cowboy! The Petting zoo was such a treat! All the kids loved to feed and pet the wide variety of rescue animals. It's great that there's someone out there to take in animals and rescue them like Meg does. Made us feel like our money was going to a good cause. We plan to start lessons this year for our daughter and hope we continue going to Mega Arte for a very long time!  We hope you enjoyed yourselves at Mega Arte and we appreciate your business!

Love Meg, She takes the time to make everyone feel special. My daughter spent the last week with her at summer camp are amazed with how fast she sees what you are capable of doing. She will help you learn and grow as-fast-as-possible. There are many animals around the ranch to interact and have fun with.

Okay, Moms and Dads, this is as good as it gets!!! What a wonderful riding school! Great location- extremely close to Encinitas, Carlsbad, and San Marcos homes. This instructor is the best! Meg is patient, encouraging, informative, and supportive of her students! We have tried other riding academies in the area, and they don't compare. My seven year old daughter loves to come here for her weekly lessons. We half lease a pony and a horse, and I take lessons here as well. Beautiful ranch, well-cared for horses. Just a great place to be- people and animals are happy! Many rescue animals call this wonderful place home including pigs, peacocks, goats, chickens, sheep, alpaca, bunnies, and others. Fun for the kids to observe or feed the animals and great for siblings who are watching the lessons too! Awesome place for birthday parties! And, moms, there is a regular bathroom here, not an outhouse- Awesome!!!!!! I whole-heartedly recommend this riding academy to any mom or dad for their kids or for themselves!!!!!

Meg is a great teacher who took really good care of my daughter during a 5 day training camp in horse riding. Her horses are perfect, she takes really good care of them and of her pupils! She is passionate about her job and wants to share her knowledge at all times. And the cherry on the cake is that she speaks French which was nice for my daughter.

Meg started working with my daughter, who at the time was 2 1/2 years old. My daughter wanted to ride and we couldn't find a place, that would take a child so young, so when we find Meg Brown it was great! She is wonderful with children, and she adores her animals. I had my daughters 5th Birthday party at this wonderful place. It was such a unique and fun experience for her and all the other children at the party. Starting with horse riding, my daughter was so thrilled to be able to do this. Meg and all of the girls that helped with her party did a fantastic job. They helped each child ride and enjoy, for most, their first experience on horseback. After, the petting and feeding zoo was a big hit with everyone. We brought carrots and all the kids walked around, touching and feeding all of these beautiful animals. And the best part is Meg rescues these animals. So the food and the money spent is going to such a good cause. The 3 hours flew by and Meg was nice about us running slightly over and gave us a few extra minutes to clear out-or should I say drag the kids out-No one wanted to leave!! Meg made everyone feel like this was their ranch to run and play. Mega Arte truly provides an individual, unique and wonderful experience for everyone who attended. Meg is also active with Make-A-Wish-a foundation near and dear to our family. I am very happy to help Meg support this cause! Thank you for a such a memorable birthday party for my daughter and all who attended!

Hello! This is a brief story about how I started horseback riding at Mega Arte. When I was about the age of 14 years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 4B. A type of cancer. I went through a long tough battle and had to have strong chemotherapy. After a few month of being in remission I was put into ICU because I had no immune system. I was in the ICU for a few weeks on life support. I had ARDS. (Acute respiratory distress syndrome). The doctors told my parents that I only had a 20% survival rate due to the fact that my lungs were collapsing as well as the rest of my body failing on me.
I somehow pulled through and was put into rehab to learn how to walk and write again. After my battle Make A Wish Foundation explained to me that I qualified to have a wish because I had had a life threatening illness. I knew what I wanted! I told Make A Wish I wanted to learn how to horseback ride as well as own my own horse.
As the time came, I interviewed many different stables in San Diego, and came across Mega Arte Riding Academy and trainer Meg Brown. I knew I wanted to train with Meg because she was very positive and had all kinds of rescued horses and farm animals. Meg had introduced me to a young horse named Jasmine, who I fell in love with. Jasmine was still young and was not started under the saddle yet. She had been abused in Lakeside where Meg had found her. As for me, I was still very weak and skinny that I could hardly get into the saddle without some help. Meg decided to teach me how to ride on her sweet school master Opus for a few months. And then eventually I would ride Jasmine. Meg encouraged me to fight and regain my strength and never let me give up, she rode and trained Jasmine for me at the same time as I rode Opus and I learned how to correctly start a young horse. I began training Dressage and rode in a few local schooling shows on Jasmine. The whole experience lifted my spirit and made me stronger.
I am now almost 23 years old and have been in remission for almost nine years. I still visit and ride Jasmine often. I know our bond is strong. Jasmine has taught me so much. And although my two year lease had expired Meg kept my horse for me at no charge and allowed me to earn my riding lesson as her assistant instructor for pony parties and summer camps.
Meg is a great trainer and friend and I have learned so much from her and her horses in the last 8 years. I would highly recommend Meg as a trainer to everyone. She is very patient with all ages, new or experienced riders. She is a great horse trainer and knows how to start young horses under the saddle the proper way. She is gentle yet effective. My daughter Melanie was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 4B when she was at the age of 14. Her wish was to learn how to horseback ride and own a horse. Make A Wish Foundation grated Melanie's wish to lease a horse and learn how to ride for two years. We decided to pursue this wish at Mega Arte, because the ranch had a beautiful location as well as the owner, Meg had a horse that Melanie could call her own.
As the two year lease passed, Meg knew that Melanie and the horse, Jasmine had grown a bond for one another, and Meg offered to keep teaching Melanie for helping out at the ranch. As of today, Melanie is almost 23, and visits the ranch often to see and ride Jasmine to this day.
Meg has been a great teacher to Melanie and has formed her into a confident rider. Melanie and Meg have become friends throughout the years.
I am glad my family chose to have Melanie's wish grated at Mega Arte Ranch, because Melanie has benefited so much from riding and creating a bond with the wonderful animals Meg has at the ranch. It has been a dream come true!

My best friend Tony and his family have been taking lessons from Meg for years now. They love her and asked if I wanted to come out for a short trail ride. I agreed and had a great time! She is a special person with special horses in her care. I rode Red, a large Western horse that was very smart and responded well to my input on the trail. He knows Western commands as well as Dressage. Meg is skilled and very attentive to the needs of her clients, she is wonderful with children but can handle any type of client with ease. Thanks Meg for a great experience!

My husband and I took our son and daughter for a trail ride Saturday at this amazing riding facility and four of us had a fantastic time there. Meg was so kind and helpful, the horses were so nice and the whole experience was so amazing that all of us are going to start taking lessons there! Today was my first time riding and I was extremely impressed. Meg was full of knowledge and extremely patient. She gave me a great intro in the ring then took me out on a nice trail ride. My 7 year old daughter attended Mega Arte horseback riding camp in July, she loved it. The horse riding lessons were the primary activity during the camp. There was a small group of kids and 3 experienced trainers (including Megan), so Alisa had at least one lesson each day. She was able to ride on different horses and a pony, learn some fundamentals and practice trotting. She also enjoyed watching and holding bunnies and feeding the animals: Meg has quite a petting zoo there - lama, bunnies, peacocks, pigs, sheep, chickens and more. My daughter had a fantastic time, learned a lot about horses and horse riding!
